Volunteer Spotlight: Sara Zeller
Meet Sara Zeller, one of the smiling faces helping keep our kitchens running smoothly at Family House!
Sara graduated from Carrboro High School in 2023 and attended Utah State University, where she began to major in Recreational Resource Management. Before heading back to college, Sara has been spending her time volunteering with us after returning from an incredible year in Brazil. Sara first discovered Family House through the ladies at her church who volunteer in the kitchen.
One of her favorite parts of serving? “I get to volunteer with fun grandmas!”
In the kitchen, Sara jumps in wherever she’s needed — filling snack bins, preparing bagels, cleaning the dining room, organizing to-go bags, and tackling fridge clean-outs with enthusiasm and care.
When asked what she enjoys most about volunteering, Sara shared: “It’s a great community, and when I’m at Family House, I don’t worry about anything else. It’s a break from life!”
We are so grateful for Sara’s joyful spirit, hard work, and willingness to serve. Thank you, Sara, for being part of the Family House community and good luck going back to Utah State!
