In 2025, Family House provided safe, affordable lodging to 6,768 patients and family members, totaling 22,890 nights of stay while they received treatment for cancer, burns, cardiology and neurology-related conditions, perinatal psychiatry, and other serious illnesses and injuries. These families traveled from across North Carolina—and beyond—to access specialized care at UNC, often leaving behind their homes, jobs, and support systems during an already difficult time.

At Family House, guests are afforded not only lodging, but are also offered meals, supportive programs, transportation, and a caring support network.
