Doug Shackelford

Doug Shackelford is the Emeritus Meade H. Willis Distinguished Professor at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. He joined the faculty in 1990 and served as dean from 2014 until his retirement in 2022. Doug has published extensively in accounting, economics, finance, and law journals. He has held visiting professorships at Stanford, Oxford, and Universiteit Maastricht, and was a senior tax consultant at Arthur Andersen from 1981 to 1985. He also serves the community as the chair of the Development Committee for Public Ed Works. Doug holds two degrees in business administration: a doctorate from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
