Cathy Madigan, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, recently retired from UNC Health, where she dedicated over 20 years to various nursing management roles. She advanced through the ranks to become the Chief Nurse Executive in 2019. Before her time at UNC Health and Hospitals, Cathy served as the Director of Cardiac Nursing at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Children’s Hospital of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Throughout her career, she has been honored with several awards, including the Distinguished Alumni Award from Vanderbilt University and recognition as one of the Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina.
