Build a Family
Volunteering with a group is a great way to bring co-workers, families, church groups, and civic organizations together for a common cause. We’re excited to partner with your group to bring comfort, community and companionship to our guests.
Provide food and comfort!
One of the most meaningful ways to serve at Family House is by sharing a meal. Volunteer groups can prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a weekend brunch—offering not just food, but comfort, connection, and a sense of home during a difficult time.
Available Roles
Looking for a team-building experience that truly matters? Service days are a wonderful way for businesses and organizations to give back together. Whether onsite or offsite, your group can make a real difference while strengthening connections and boosting morale.
Popular service day activities include:
- Preparing meals or treats for guests
- Assembling care packages
- Tackling light facilities or outdoor projects
It’s teamwork with heart—and impact you can see.
It may sound simple, but it makes a huge impact. With 75 guest rooms, there’s always laundry to be folded! Gather a group (up to 10 people) and spend a couple of hours together turning clean linens into a warm, welcoming space for our next families. It’s hands-on, meaningful, and surprisingly fun!
Early mornings at the hospital don’t leave much time for breakfast. You can help by assembling Grab n’ Go bags filled with easy, portable snacks like muffins, granola bars, trail mix, juice, and more. These small bags deliver big comfort as guests head out the door.
Bring joy, creativity, and a much-needed break to our guests. After long days, evenings at Family House are a time to unwind. Whether your group performs music, leads a craft night, or hosts a fun activity, you’ll provide a meaningful escape and lift spirits in a powerful way.
Want an easy way to give? Our Amazon Wish List is always updated with exactly what our House and guests need most. Host a drive with your group and help us keep essential items stocked without the guesswork.
Help us keep comfort within reach. Our guests rely on our community pantry and refrigerators to prepare meals during long and often stressful days. Hosting a food drive is a simple yet powerful way to make sure families always have nourishing options available when they need them most.
Have a creative idea? We’d love to hear it! There are so many ways to make a difference, including:
- Grounds beautification projects
- Notes of encouragement for guests
- Donating baked goods
- Toiletry kit drives
- Wellness, music, or art offerings
If you can dream it, we can likely make it happen—just reach out and let’s create something meaningful together.
